I cannot tell from anything here or elsewhere whether or not a person can have both a business page and a profile. I have seen it written in facebook that you cannot have both or they will be deleted. Someone needs to explain this

Nathan, you cannot have two personal profiles. Facebook is making a distinction between profiles, which are for people, and pages, which are for businesses. You can and should have a personal profile, under your name. Your business, Recyclescupltor, should have a page with that name and a few keywords, maybe Recycle sculptor, a green sculptor. Peg

Excellent, timely, usable information! We were just discussing creating a facebook page for our business, and contemplating hiring a company to do it for us. This info is great because it allows me to get started on my own and decide later if i want to upgrade to a professional service. Thank you for the generous tutorial!

Hello Peg, great video, thanks. I had a question though. I want to promote my product using Facebook, but I know that I can’t add apps to a business page or account. Do you recommend using a regular user account to promote a business?
Thanks,
Yaniv…

Yaniv,

You can add apps to a business page, and that’s why you should use one for your business presence. You’ll want to check posts on ecommerce, like http://doingbusinessonfacebook.com/2011/02/10/create-a-sales-tab-on-your-facebook-business-page/ or http://doingbusinessonfacebook.com/2011/02/10/ecommerce-tab-on-facebook-busines-page/. See also the category Tabs on this blog, which will give you lots of ideas for applications to integrate.

Hi Peg,

I have new facebook business page and it will absolutely not let me add any apps to it! It is terribly frustrating. How can I link my twitter and other tools? I created the page with a facebook business account. Is this my problem?

Thanks,

Brad

Brad,

You must be logged in as your profile, not your page, to add apps. After you are logged in personally, search for the app, like Twitter. Link the app to your account, and after you do you will have an opportunity to designate whether you want it to post to your profile or your business page. Good luck.
