Facebook Page Evaluation Tools: EdgeRank results

EdgeRank Checker's results for our Facebook for Business page

Try these four free Facebook page evaluation tools, to measure your page’s activity, Fan growth and interaction: EdgeRank Checker, Community Health Grader, Facebook Grader and Social Media Monitor

See below for recommendations on how you might use them.  But first, check out these free tools:

EdgeRank Checker

EdgeRank Checker from SBN

The Facebook edgerank algorithm determines which of your recent updates make it into the ‘top news’ on your friends news feed.  As SBN says, “The higher your EdgeRank score, the more likely it is to be visible on a Fan’s (for ease of reference) ‘Top News’ feed.”

As you can see in the screenshot above, our Facebook for Business page  has an Edgerank of 15 out of 20.  The above-average rank indicates we still have work to do to increase the visibility of our updates.  SBN suggests that we post content that inherently attracts interaction, encourage more users to ‘like’ our content and use photos & videos as often as possible.

See a post by Mari Smith for a discussion of the pros and cons of the EdgeRank tool.

Facebook Community Health Grader

Facebook Community Health Grader from Momentus Media

The Community Health Rating of our Facebook for Business page is 92%, an A+.   In this analysis, our Facebook for Business page is near the top of the class.

The site is not explicit about the “health” computation.  Nevertheless, “Community Vital Statistics” at bottom suggest its factors: Likes, admin posts per day, Likes and comments on admin posts, community posts per day, community responses per day, and overall health score.

Facebook Grader

Facebook Grader from Hubspot.

Our Facebook for Business page gets a 54 out of 100 from the Facebook Grader.  By this measure, our page needs extra efforts to make it more effective.

Hubspot says this tool bases calculations “on the number of Fans, the power of this network of Fans, the completeness of your page and a few other things.”

Social Media Monitor

Social Media Monitor from Wildfire

Wildfire’s Social Media Monitor is a tool to compare Fan growth for several Facebook pages.  Putting in only our Facebook page URL, I learned that my Facebook for Business page grew 60% in three months.

How Might I Use and Interpret These Facebook Page Evaluation Tools?

The four free Facebook page evaluation tools measure different factors:  the likely visibility of Status Updates, the estimated health of the page community, and recent Fan growth rates.  You might wish to use these tools as a third-party measures of your page activity and its progress over time.  I could envision running these tests quarterly to monitor changes or the results of additional marketing staff and campaigns.
